This is how we win.
No one hands a movement its rights. We take them back together — one voice at a time. Here's where to start.

The people who write the rules need to hear from the people the rules are hurting. We've written the letter for you — just below.

First, find who represents you. Then send them the letter below — copy it, add your name, and personalize anything you'd like. A short, respectful message from a real constituent carries real weight.
Or call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected to your member's office.
Dear [Representative or Senator], I am writing as your constituent, and as one of the more than 60 million Americans living with chronic pain. I am asking you to protect access to care for pain patients. Since 2016, federal prescribing guidelines meant to curb misuse have too often been applied as rigid rules. Patients who were stable and safe for years have been force-tapered, cut off, or turned away at the pharmacy — even though the CDC's own 2022 update warned against these exact practices. The result has been real harm: lost jobs, lost function, and lost lives. I am asking you to support policies that keep treatment decisions between patients and their doctors, end forced tapers and one-size-fits-all dose limits for stable patients, and ensure no one is denied a legal, legitimate prescription. We are dependent on our medicine. We are not addicted. Please stand with us. Thank you for your time and your service. Sincerely, [Your name] [Your city, State]
